Living In Bondage Review

This movie marks Ramsey Nouah’s directorial debut, hearing him directing a movie almost made me went numb, as to what can he offer as a director instead of his normal acting roles. But sincerely i can say he didn’t disappoint been his first movie, Not only that the movie keeps you glew to your chair, You also won’t love to be distracted as every of its conversation counts.

The Story

The movie “Living In Bondage: Breaking Free” is said to be a continuation of the story of cultist Andy Okeke from the early 20th century production. He was said to have a second wife who birthed him a son which they named Nnamdi Okeke. After the demise of his mother, Nnamdi grew up with his aunt and her family. He grew up to be a smart and an ambitious young man, All he ever wanted were the good things of life. He is fascinated by good cars and a luxurious lifestyle and desires to make it big.
He is ambitious but unable to hold down a secure career as an advertising executive five years after graduation.

Despite the advice of his cousin Toby “played by Shawn Faqua” who urges him to believe in his abilities, a frustrated Nnamdi as usual keeps longing for a luxurious lifestyle, and his quest for a good life he took the same step of that of his him father. A chance meeting with billionaire Richard Williams “played by Ramsey Nouah” led him to the notorious secret cult Brotherhood of The Six, and after initiation Nnamdi is catapulted into high society status, acquiring vast wealth and falling in love with the beautiful Kelly “played by Muna Abii”, but his new life comes at a price. What was the price? Find it out!

A blogger named Uzoma was trying to bring down the occultic group as they were associated with numerous ritual killings. He then contacted Andy Okeke (played by Kenneth Okonkwo) who has now become a pastor. He needed the help of Andy for inside information as an ex-member that he was, with his he was able to take down the brotherhood. This will also give Andy Okeke the chance to save his son from this deadly cult which offers you power, influence, and wealth in exchange for his soul.

Its opening scene sets the tone for the rest of the movie, It all started with an aerial shot of a car driving through a winding bush path, while all that was heard was the faint voice of a little girl singing an eerie Igbo folk song. When the car comes to a halt, the driver was revealed to be a man named Obinna Omego (played by Enyinna Nwigwe). He has driven his daughter to the middle of a forest with the promise of showing her a waterfall. He tells her to close her eyes in preparation for the surprise. When she does this, he beheaded her. Well that’s one of the prices one pays for selling their souls. In the later end Obinna committed suicide as the ghost of his daughter continued to haunt him. As he was the one that “beat the child that was crying.”

In Conclusion, i can say the movie “Living in bondage: Breaking Free” due worth enough of everyone’s time to sit and gulp down their popcorn while they learn from this educative and spiritually filled movie, that shows nothing but how dubious the devil can be. I say not that the movie is perfect but its imperfections were easily overlooked as they gave it their best to convey the messages to the audience.
